Can you benefit from Mailsort?

With Mailsort the savings you make are determined by the size, weight, volume and required speed of delivery. By pre-sorting your mail you can make significant savings on your postage costs.

Your data will be processed through special software that sorts the addresses into postcode order throughout the country. Your mail is then packed into labelled bags for direct delivery to individual post offices.

Where there are a large number of items for any of the 1400 main post offices we can get you a discount of up to 23%. Smaller numbers earn a lower discount of around 8%, compared with normal postal charges.

Is Walksort more suitable for your mailing?

Taking the concept further, if you have large volumes of mail for small areas, Walksort actually sorts out the letters into the right order for the postman to deliver them to the door. That saves Royal Mail a huge amount of time and effort and that’s why they give larger discounts, which save you even more money.

Mailsort and Walksort software generates a report that goes to the Post Office with the mailing to support the claim for the discount. You’re welcome to see a copy of this report so you can see for yourself the savings you are making.

Mailsort includes Straight Line Pricing

If you were posting a letter in a Post Office and it weighed 65 grams the price would jump from 30p to 46p (an increase of over 50% over the 60 gram price). With Straight Line Pricing when your item weighs over 60 grams the price you pay for your postage depends on the actual weight of the item, not which weight band it fits into.

You don’t jump from one price band to another, you move smoothly up the price list paying only for the weight your mailing. When combined with the savings from Mailsort or Walksort the potential exists of really significant savings.

Is your mailing going abroad?

If you are sending quantities of mail overseas it may be more cost effective to consolidate it and send it direct via an overseas postal service. Many foreign Postal Services, such as Swiss or Deutsche Post, have facilities in the UK. We only use the major European Post Offices so you can be 100% sure that your service levels will not be compromised.

Royal Mail Competitors

You may have a further choice of service. There are now effective competitors to the Royal Mail in specific areas such as guaranteed 2 day deliveries (daily volumes are required) and next day services to businesses with Central London postcodes.
